Which Ohio roadways and interstates does Ohgo report on?
Ohgo reports road activity, speeds, incidents, travel times, closures, and winter road conditions for all of Ohio’s Highways.
How timely is the traffic speed in Ohgo? How often is the data updated?
Ohgo receives updated traffic speed data from remote sensors approximately every
minute. The sensors provide average speeds for each direction of the roadway. They
do not report individual speeds and are not used for law enforcement. The speeds
are color-coded and represented on the speed display map.
Why does the traffic speed display sometimes contain gray areas?
In some cases, Ohgo may be unable to receive traffic speed data from one or more
remote traffic speed sensors. If Ohgo does not have enough traffic speed data to
calculate the average speed of a roadway segment, the segment displays as gray.
Gray segments are usually temporary.
How do I use Ohgo? What do I do first?
Ohgo allows you to view up-to-date information about ODOT-managed roadways throughout
Ohio. First, you will select the location of the map in which you would like to
view travel status. At first glance, you will see any major alerts running across
the top of your page as well as traffic incidents listed by roadway on the left
panel of the page. To view additional details, you can use the icons located on
the right side of the map to select road activity (incidents, roadwork, etc.), web
cameras, and other items to display in the map.
What types of road activity does Ohgo display?
The types of road activity Ohgo can display are:
- Accidents
- Debris
- Disabled
- Flooding
- Roadwork
- Snow/Ice
- Other
The color of the icon indicates the status of the road.
Green: Road is open
Yellow: Road is restricted
Red: Road is closed
What does the color of a road activity icon mean?
The color of a road activity icon indicates how traffic flow is being affected at
that location.
Red: Road is closed at that location
Yellow: Traffic flow is restricted, such as a two lanes being narrowed
to one lane
Green: Traffic is not affected at the location.
Where does Ohgo get winter road condition information?
Winter road condition information is entered into Ohgo by ODOT county garages and
outposts throughout Ohio's eighty-eight counties.

How often is winter road condition information updated?
During Ohio's snow and ice season (typically November through April), ODOT county
garages and outposts throughout the state update winter road condition approximately
every two hours for their respective reporting locations. Ohgo displays the time
at which the winter road condition for a particular route was last updated. To view
this time, simply position your mouse cursor over a winter road condition icon and
click to display a popup message which includes the time of the last update.
